Manuel y Gladis Orellana

Please allow me to introduce myself; my name is Manuel Antonio Orellana Cisnero. I studied in the Modesto Barrios School until I completed the ninth grade. God called me to fulltime ministry while I was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. I prepared myself for ministry through the Baptist Mission Theological Seminary that was founded by the Salvadorian Baptist Association. I was a deacon and minister of music for 7 years. I was able to develop myself in ministry through small group houses of prayer. I have founded three Baptist churches, one in the San Jose Las Flores neighborhood located in Tonacatapque, another in Apopa, and the third in Guazapa. I have co-labored with Good News in Action in the evangelism ministry showing evangelistic movies in a variety of different places and preaching the gospel in campaigns in different churches since 1986. Every year we reach between 6,000 and 6,300 souls for Jesus Christ.

I met my wife, Gladis, in 1972 in her place of business; two years later we were married. Together we had one daughter, Teresa del Carmen Orellana de López, and we also adopted a son, Juan Alberto Orellana. We have five grandchildren.

Currently, I am the pastor of the Gethsemane Baptist Church in El Coyolito in Chalatenango. I am also working in La Labranza and Aguilares where we are planting and raising up new churches.

It is my heart's desire and hope to raise up as many churches as possible and as God gives me strength and the necessary resources in the 94 municipal zones in the Northern part of El Salvador. With God's help we want to multiply and strengthen the leadership in the El Coyolito church so that we may send prepared workers out to raise up the new churches. We are also trusting God to help us raise up New Life Baptist Church in Aguilares to 100 members by the year 2010 and also establish a leadership team for that church. We also hope to build a church building for the El Coyolito Church as well as the La Labranza church by the year 2009.

Please join us in praying for the following requests:

•  For a clear vision
•  For good health
•  For financial provision for the ministry
•  For the necessary protection in dangerous areas where we preach the gospel to the people who do not know Christ.
