Dreams Do Come True! For years the leadership of Woodland Park Baptist Church in Hammond, Louisiana and Iglesia Bautista Vida Nueva in San Salvador, El Salvador have dreamed of doing Medical Missions together. About a year ago this dream began the process of becoming reality through Good News in Action. Under the direction of Dr. Julio Contreras SR and Doctor Martha de Colato, both of Vida Nueva, and with the help of about 100 members of Vida Nueva, the very first GNIA Medical Missions trip was born. We would like to thank Woodland Park Baptist Church and leader Randy Ray, Oakland Baptist Church and leader Rick Bridges, and Valley Baptist Church and leader Aaron Werner for being part of the dream team. Thank you for providing the materials, medicines and skills necessary to be able to evangelize and effectively treat 1,551 patients in the areas of general medicine, ophthalmology and dentistry in just one week. Thank you for your patience and wonderful attitudes as you worked in very high temperatures, less than perfect conditions, and longer than normal work hours. Thank you also for your commitment to one-on-one evangelism and your passion for souls. 850 people made professions of faith. The Kingdom of God was expanded for His Glory. Not only were we able to significantly help people in their physical needs but most importantly we were able to help them with their most important spiritual need, salvation in Christ. Medical missions are clearly a wonderful tool for evangelism. Rumor has it that plans for another Medical Mission trip are already in the works for next year |
