A Letter from our Director

Welcome to Good News In Action’s website. We are excited that you are using this valuable tool to get to know us better. 2018 marks the 48th year (founded in 1970) that Good News In Action has been actively reaching the lost for Christ and starting churches in an effort to glorify God through the expansion of His Kingdom and the transformation of lives. Since 1985, Good News In Action has seen over 350,000 people make professions of faith in its evangelistic outreaches and helped start 60+ churches. It is currently helping support 33 pastors, churches, and missionaries in El Salvador and Latin America.

Although it’s exciting to see what God has done through Good News In Action in the past, it’s even more exciting to see what the future holds. The major focus of the ministry from now until 2025, is to evangelize the Metro America 020 area (geographically speaking from Ecuador to Mexico, including Central America and the Caribbean) and start church planting churches in the metropolitan areas of more than 1 million people. Over 260 million people live in this geographical area and, according to the statistics; over 220 million of them don’t have a personal relationship with Christ. And most of them are receptive to the gospel! The idea is to continue to start churches like New Life Baptist Church that will have a vision to not only evangelize their world but also to influence it to glorify God.

To accomplish this, we will continue to need help from the individuals and churches that support Good News In Action. One of our most important values is teamwork, and we believe that God may want you to be a part of our team. You can be a part of the team by:

  1. Praying for Good News In Action. Without prayer, we can accomplish nothing that will glorify God. Please pray for Metro America 020 and for the missionaries that Good News In Action supports.
  2. Giving to Good News In Action. Reaching people for Christ, raising up new leaders, pastors and missionaries, and plugging them in or sending them out, and starting new churches all over Metro America costs money. Your gifts and support will go to all of these efforts.
  3. Going on a short-term mission trip. Sharing the gospel with those who do not know Christ and leading them into a personal relationship in Him can be one of the most rewarding things you will ever do in your life. The reason this is true is because by doing this you will be fulfilling the purpose God has designed for you, bearing fruit. Most of the people who have made mission trips with Good News have told us that their lives were changed. They were changed by the receptivity of the lost in this part of the world and by seeing God do amazing things through them. You don’t need any special talents to make a short-term mission trip, just a willingness to be used by God.
  4. It is possible that you are already part of the Good News In Action team. I want to personally thank you for your faithful prayer and support and for coming down to this part of the world to be a part of God’s great harvest of souls. Without you, this ministry would not exist. So whether you are praying about becoming a part of the team or are already a part of the team, I want to invite you to check out the website and get some more information on what God is doing through Good News In Action.              Thank you and God bless you. Steve Kern
