Vida Nueva, Managua, Nicaragua, Bolonia Campus

Felix Enrique Canizalez, Pastor of Vida Nueva, Managua Nicaragua, Campus Bolonia

Felix was born on January 24, 1953 in Santa Ana, El Salvador. After finishing High School he received a technical degree as an accountant and then a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the Technological University of San Salvador. For 30 years he worked as an accountant, supervisor, and administrative systems analysist for the Social Security Office of El Salvador. Felix is married to Dinora Elizabeth Lopez de Canizález (birthday: August 5, 1963, marriage: February 9, 1985) and is blessed with 3 children, Lorena Maria born May 19, 1993 (married), Patricia Elizabeth born July 12, 1997, and Felix Enrique born December 23, 1999.

Felix and Dinora came to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in 1993 through the ministry of New Life Baptist Church in San Salvador under the leadership of Pastors Julio Contreras and Steve Kern.  They were personally discipled by Pastor Julio and his wife, Patty. In 1999, while reading God’s Word and trying to follow the examples of their pastors, Felix and Dinora began to pray that their lives would no longer be a product of their own wills, but rather of God’s will.

A few years later, during a mission’s conference they were challenged to serve the Lord and publically manifested their willingness to go wherever they were sent. During 2003 and 2004 the family went on several evangelistic mission trips to Honduras, and in April of 2005 went as part of a mission team to Managua. Immediately following that trip Felix began traveling every 2 weeks to Managua with a follow up and discipleship team from Vida Nueva to reach those saved during the outreach.

After several trips to Managua, Felix was asked to take on the leadership of the Managua trips. God clearly spoke to Felix prompting him to respond “YES”. In October of 2005, Julio and Steve approached Felix and asked him if he would be willing to go and live in Nicaragua with his family. He knew in his heart that it was God’s will that he and his family go to serve. On January 15, 2006 Felix was ordained into the ministry and commissioned. On January 18, 2006 he and his family moved to Managua Nicaragua. Shortly thereafter the Vida Nueva Managua was founded in the Canizalez home.

Starting a church from scratch is VERY hard work. Felix and his family have been faithful all through the years. As the church grew and better strategies were designed to reach the lost for Christ, the church has moved locations, has received the short term help of outreach, follow up and discipleship teams as well as individuals and couples who have invested a year at a time in that effort. Through the efforts of Vida Nueva Managua many lost have been saved, the saved have been baptized and discipled, leaders have been raised up, marriages have been restored, and ministries have been founded.
