Javier Eduardo Giron Sosa, Associate Pastor, Vida Nueva Guatemala
Javier Girón was born on October 20, 1982 into a Catholic home. As a child he was taught about God and the Lord Jesus Christ. When he was 10 years old he clearly heard the gospel and received Jesus into his heart. However, with the temptations and trials of adolescence and the divorce of his parents, Javier chose the wrong path for 9 years. God, in His great love and mercy, always pursued him. He came to Vida Nueva San Salvador in 2002, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, he repented of all his sinful ways and gave his life fully to Jesus Christ. Soon thereafter he was baptized, began to study the Bible systematically, and serve God in the church.
In 2006, as an Industrial Engineering student and a volunteer in ministry at church, his pastors, Julio and Steve, seeing the potential in him, talked with him and offered him the opportunity to serve part time as the preteen youth pastor. That way he could continue his studies and work also in Engineering if he desired. Javier served as the preteen youth pastor at Vida Nueva for 5 years; until 2011. Read More>>
Nelson Rivas and his family moved to Guatemala City on September 11, 2007. They began by evangelizing neighborhoods with the help of mission teams from the states as well as from El Salvador and by starting home Bible Studies. These groups grew very quickly and in January 2008 Vida Nueva Guatemala was founded. From its birth until August 2016, Vida Nueva Guatemala met in an ever increasing number of Ball Rooms of the Hotel Westin Camino Real in the Zone 10 of Guatemala City. In August 2016, they moved just two blocks away to their own new location, and again in May of 2017 to another location where they are currently renting monthly. Vida Nueva Guatemala continues to grow numerically and spiritually. Their services are every Sunday morning at 9:45AM. Read More>>
