Félix Enrique Canizález
Greetings! My name is Felix Enrique Canizález and my family and I are Metro America 020 missionaries to Managua , Nicaragua . I was born on January 24, 1953 in Santa Ana , El Salvador . I am thankful to have 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and my parents still living. In my youth I received a technical degree as an accountant and a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the Technological University of San Salvador. For 30 years I worked for the Social Security Office of El Salvador. God has blessed me with a wonderful wife, Dinora Elizabeth Lopez de Canizález (birthday: August 5, 1963, marriage: February 9, 1985) and 3 children, Lorena Maria May 19, 1993, Patricia Elizabeth July 12, 1997 and Felix Enrique December 23, 1999.
In 1993 our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ rescued my wife and I from hell through the ministry of New Life Baptist Church . Immediately, we were discipled by our pastor, Julio Contreras, and his wife, Patty. About 8 years ago (1999) while reading God's Word and trying to follow the examples of our pastors (Julio and Steve) we began to pray that our lives would no longer be a product of our own wills, but rather of God's will.
A few years later, during a mission's conference we were challenged to serve the Lord. At that time we publicly manifested that we were willing to go where ever God and our pastors sent us. During 2003 and 2004 I had the pleasure of going on 5 evangelistic mission trips to Honduras . In April of 2005 we went as part of a team to Managua for the first time to do an evangelistic campaign. Immediately after that trip I began traveling every 2 weeks to Managua with other brothers in Christ to disciple those that had been saved during the evangelistic campaign.
After several trips to Managua my pastors asked me to be in charge of all the Managua trips. I could not resist the call of the Holy Spirit and responded by telling them YES! In October of 2005 my pastors asked me if I was would be willing to go and live in Nicaragua with my family. God's will was that my wife, my children, and I would go to serve. On January 15, 2006 I was ordained to the ministry and commissioned. On January 18, 2006 my family and I moved to Managua to reside there permanently or until God decides to take us to another place or into His presence.
In 2007 Rodrigo Diaz joined our team and has been serving in Managua , Nicaragua with us. My wife, Dinora, my daughter Lorena, and several sisters in the congregation are now serving as Sunday school.
We meet together as a church every Sunday morning, we meet on Tuesdays for praise and prayer, we meet in small life circle groups on Wednesdays and the youth meet on Saturdays. Since our beginning in 2006 we have completed discipleship more than 20 new Christians, we are currently discipling 17 more new Christians. 12 brothers and sisters have been trained to be disciplers and 10 brothers and sisters have been trained to be Sunday school teachers. I have also had the opportunity to teach 3 modules on "How to Study the Bible." The "Woman to Woman" ministry meets once a month with the goal of evangelism. 3 new Christian ladies have received the "Woman to Woman" discipleship and 4 ladies have received the study on "Understanding your Emotions."
New Life Baptist Church Managua congregation is currently about 56 people, the average attendance is about 40 adults and 35 children.
