Daniel Figueroa, Pastor to High School Youth

Daniel was born in Santa Ana, El Salvador, on February 3, 1988 into a Christian home. Jesus and His Word were a daily part of his life as was his attendance at Templo Biblico Getsemani in Santa Ana. When he was 7 years old, Daniel gave his life to Jesus. He understood that, even though he had grown up in church, he was a sinner and needed to have a personal relationship with Jesus. When he was 18, he began his University studies in International Relations in San Salvador, the capital of El Salvador. Daniel’s convictions were tried during this time as he faced the realities of life as a young man who did not have a strong relationship with God. He experienced a period where the consequences of his poor decisions negatively impacted his life. Soon thereafter, he truly learned what the Bible says in 2 Corinthians 5:15, “and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.” This verse changed his life so much that he firmly committed himself to living for God rather than himself and to grow to become more like Jesus.
About half way through his University studies, Daniel understood, through God’s Word, that He was calling him not only to live a holy life but to also serve Him in ministry. His favorite verse is Psalms 73:28 which says, “But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, That I may declare all Your works.” It was at that time that he decided that the passion of his life would be to live for God’s glory and fulfill His plan for his life.
So, Daniel began to serve in the youth ministry of his church. When he finished his University studies he moved to Queretaro, Mexico to study the Bible at the Word of Life Bible Institute. During this first year, the Lord answered a very important prayer request, to find a brave and committed wife who would be willing to serve the Lord in El Salvador. Daniel met Montserrat and after a year and a half of friendship, they formalized their relationship and were married in 2014. That same year, Daniel returned to El Salvador and continued further Biblical and Ministerial studies in the Vida Nueva Baptist Seminary.
In 2016, Daniel was invited to work for the Seminary, a big answer to prayer. Not only did this provide him with a job but also a chance to learn and grow. They found godly people who walked with them during their first year of marriage. Today, Daniel and Montse are an integral part of the Vida Nueva congregation. They are convinced that this is the place God has for them to be trained and used by Him. They currently serve in the High School Youth Department, Daniel being their pastor. Daniel also serves with Steve Kern in Evangelism.
Both Daniel and Montse are open to whatever God would have them do with their lives. Their life and marriage verse is Psalms 67:1-2, “God be merciful to us and bless us, And cause His face to shine upon us. That Your way may be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations.”
