SAN SALVADOR
During the week of June 5-12, 2009 we had the privilege of reaching out to the lost of El Salvador through medical missions. Two wonderful teams joined us at Iglesia Bautista Vida Nueva to reach out in the areas of Lourdes, La Gloria, El Coyolito, Aguilares, Zacatecoluca and Apopa. Our church is working in each one of these areas and already has established missions or home bible studies which has made the follow up so much more effective. One team that joined us came from Woodland Park Baptist Church in Hammond Louisiana led by Pastor Randy Ray. They brought the majority of the medical personnel and provided for the majority of the medicines and materials we used. The other team that joined us came from The Bridge Evangelical Free Church in Fresno California led by Pastor Josh Hawley. They were dedicated to the evangelism emphasis of the week.
It was a tremendous blessing to see 1,757 patients, diagnose the majority of their ailments and provide the needed medicines to help them get better. We were also able to provided dental services and reading glasses to those in need. We also had the opportunity to do some prevention education which is extremely lacking in El Salvador. The best part of the week was the opportunity we had to share the gospel with every patient that came through our clinics. To Gods glory, 353 people made the decision to trust Christ as their Lord and Savior. Each of those souls is being followed up with the goal of incorporating them into the local body of believers.
During the week we also were able to have evangelistic campaigns most evenings and show a Christian film, communicate the gospel one on one, through drama, through a biblical message and even through puppets. Many more folks gave their hearts to Jesus during those opportunities. Wednesday was a special day because we were also able to go to a school and present the gospel to dozens of students through dramas, song and Gods Word. The team from the Bridge came very prepared for this opportunity. Many students from elementary to high school prayed to receive Christ as their Lord and Savior. Enjoy the pictures!
Durante la semana del 5 al 12 de junio, tuvimos el privilegio de alcanzar a los perdidos en El Salvador por medio de las brigadas médicas. Dos maravillosos equipos se unieron con nosotros y la Iglesia Bautista VidaNueva para para ir a las áreas de Lourdes, La Gloria, El Coyolito, Aguilares, Zacatecoluca y Apopa. Nuestra iglesia está trabajando en cada una de estas áreas y actualmente hay establecidas misiones o grupos de estudio bíblico que ha hecho que el seguimiento sea muhco más efectivo. Uno de los equipos vino de Woodland Park Baptist Church en Hammond, Louisiana dirigido por el pastor Randy Ray. Ellos trajeron a la mayoría del personal médico de las brigadas y proveyeron la mayoría de las medicinas y materiales que usamos. El otro equipo vino de The Bridge Evangelical Free Church de Fresno, California, liderados por su Pastor Josh Hawley. Ellos se dedicaron a compartir el evangelio durante toda la semana.
Fue una gran bendición el poder atender a 1,757 pacientes, poder diagnosticar la mayoría de sus enfermedades y proveerles de las medicinas necesaria para hacerlos sentir mejor. También pudimos dar servicios odontálgicos y lentes de lectura a aquellos que lo necesitaban. A la vez tuvimos la oportunidad de hacer medicina preventiva, algo que poco se hace en El Salvador. La mejor parte de la semana fur poder compartir el evangelio con cada paciente que vino a las clínicas móviles. Para la gloria de Dios 353 personas tomaron la decisión de creer en Jesús como su Señor y Salvador. A cada una de estas almas se le está dando seguimiento con el objeto de incorporarles en la iglesia.
También hicimos campañas evangelísticas durante la mayoría de las tardes y exhibimos una película cristiana, evangelismo personal, con dramas, con predicaciones y hasta con títeres. Muchos entregaron sus corazones a Jesús en estos eventos. El miércoles fue especial porque pudimos ir a una escuela y presentamos el evangelio a docenas de estudiantes por medio de dramas, canciones y la Palabra de Dios. El equipo de The Bridge vino bien preparado. Muchos estudiantes de tercer ciclo y bachillerato oraron para recibir a Cristo como su Señor y Salvador. Disfruten las fotos!
