Israel Linares, Apopa Campus Pastor

Israel Linares was born on May 20, 1977, in San Salvador, the youngest of three brothers, into a Catholic family. His childhood changed abruptly when his father was killed in the civil war, leaving Israel at only three years old. His family fled to Nicaragua, where they lived for eleven years before finally returning to El Salvador once it was safe.

At nineteen, while living a disorderly life marked by vices, Israel accepted an invitation from a friend to attend a CAM Christian church. That day, as the pastor preached from 2 Timothy 2:22, God touched his heart, and Israel surrendered his life to Christ. He grew steadily in his faith, serving in his local church for many years.

In 2013, the Lord led Israel and his family to Vida Nueva, Miralvalle Campus. He had long been searching for a church committed to expository preaching and a clear, biblical vision. Israel immediately entered the discipleship process—first through CRECE, then as a student in the Leadership Bible Training Institute. During this season, God confirmed His call on Israel’s life for full‑time ministry. He had already earned degrees in Biblical and Ministerial Studies from the Salvadoran Bible Institute and had pastored a small congregation from 2010–2011.

In 2019, Israel was invited to join the missionary pastor at Vida Nueva Managua. After prayer, counsel, and multiple visits, the Lord confirmed this direction. In January 2020, Israel was commissioned and served faithfully in Managua for three years. Due to unforeseen and difficult circumstances, he and his family returned to El Salvador.

In February 2024, the pastors of Vida Nueva invited Israel to join the pastoral team at the Apopa Campus, serving alongside César Mónico. Shortly afterward, when César transitioned back to San Salvador, Israel became the Apopa Campus Pastor, a role he continues to fulfill with dedication and joy.

Israel is married to Rosa Nelys, and together they have two children: Lesly Emily (born 2006) and Nehemias Israel (born 2011). Their family lives wholeheartedly for the cause of Christ. Israel’s life verse is John 17:3: “And this is eternal life, that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.”
