When Chity graduated from High School in 1991 he was determined to live his life to the fullest. Although he believed in God, he had never imagined he would really need Him. A near-drowning incident in the ocean brought him to the realization that he was lost and on the road to hell. That very day, he initiated a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. A few months later, he was invited to attend Vida Nueva’s youth group, soon he began discipleship, participated in retreats, and began evangelizing. Later, he led a small group, studied in the seminary, and began to sense the very intense call of God upon his life.

In 1992, Chity met Patty Valladares, a new believer, at Vida Nueva. The Lord used the Evangelism ministry to bring them together. Their dating relationship lasted 7 years; they were married on August 12, 2000. Chity was 27 and Patty, 26. The Lord miraculously blessed them with a son, Diego José, born on June 27, 2006 and a daughter, Alessandra, born in August of 2009.

In 2003, Chity began working at Vida Nueva. He has gained much experience working in the Leadership Training Institute, co-pastoring to plant Vida Nueva Lourdes just 35 minutes west of the capital San Salvador, directing the Vida Nueva Bible Institute, Apopa campus pastoring, and after spending 2 years in San Pedro Sula planting Vida Nueva in that Honduran city, he returned in November 2020 to resume pastoring the Lourdes Campus with Juan Acevado.
