Apopa Campus Pastor and Worship Director for Vida Nueva

Erick was born into a Christian home on October 19, 1982. His father was the pastor of a church who raised all his children in the Lord. Erick trusted Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 14. One year later he signed up for drum lessons and quickly discovered his love for music. Soon he joined his school’s band and began to play during church services. He took every opportunity to further develop himself within the Praise and Worship ministry.

In 2000, during his last year in High School, he met Silvia Arely “Lila” Hernández, who would later become his wife 13 years later. Lila was a member of Iglesia Bautista Vida Nueva and served in Children’s Ministries. In 2008 she invited Erick to come with her to Vida Nueva. Very quickly Erick felt a part of the church and transferred his membership to Vida Nueva. That same year Erick was invited to help with the Praise and Worship during the annual youth camp for the 13–15-year-old youth group. During the camp, as they both served, the Lord gave both Erick and Lila a heartfelt burden for youth. Soon they met with Javier Giron, the youth pastor at that time, to offer themselves in service for the youth. Javier joyfully accepted their offer.

In 2010 Erick was given the responsibility of leading the 13–15-year-old youth group and two years later, he was given the responsibility of leading the 15–18-year-old youth group.

During this time, his dream of serving full time at church seemed to become more and more real. He began to pray and wait. In March of 2013, Erick and Lilawere married and in August of that same year, Erick joined Vida Nueva’s ministry team full time. From 2013 until the present, Erick has served as the Director of Praise and Worship for Vida Nueva’s 5 Campuses. He also serves as the Apopa Campus Pastor. Erick and Lila have two daughters, Annie Sofia born in February 2015, and Daniela Belen in December 2018.
